Is Alightener Foam prescription strength?
No, Alightener Foam is an over-the-counter product that does not require a prescription.
Will my patients actually see whitening?
Most people see some whitening after the first week of daily use, but results vary. Another benefit is that the aligner /retainers are cleaner, and we’ve had comments like, “my teeth feel cleaner.”
How long do they leave the foam in the tray?
We recommend leaving the foam in the trays for about 20-30 minutes, but it isn't harmful to leave it for longer periods, like an hour. The foam can be applied multiple times per day.
What is the percentage of Hydrogen Peroxide?
The active ingredient is 3.9% Hydrogen Peroxide or roughly 12% Carbamide Peroxide. We do offer custom formulas with higher HP%, like 5%, for larger orders of 500+.
Will it discolor or leave a fog/haze on aligners or retainers?
The foam works with bubbles, which can show as fog in the trays at first, but this fades after the bubbles pop and turn into liquid.
Should Alightener Foam be rinsed out?
Yes, It is best to rinse the trays in between whitening treatments.
